About
Jessica has grown up in and around the practice of family law. A third generation British Columbia lawyer, she began her legal career in 2006 by building a successful family practice with her mother, Andrea Fisher-Fleming. First working as Andrea’s legal assistant, she quickly completed her studies at UBC Law and was called to the bar in 2012.
Andrea and Jessica together built a successful and busy family practice in Abbotsford, primarily serving legal aid clients in both the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia. Through this work, Jessica developed a reputation for being willing and able to take on some of the most difficult cases, and for approaching each case with empathy, strength, and a reasonable philosophy that is tailor-made for each family’s individual circumstances and needs.
After joining Vale Family Law and Mediation in Chilliwack and building a successful private practice in only one year, Jessica now runs a sole family practice which blends both private and legal aid work, offering a variety of family law services.
Jessica’s particular interest in family law comes from her passion for helping families, most of whom are going through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Her rational and fair approach combines both mediation and litigation in a supportive way that is flexible to each client’s individual budget, legal rights, and personal needs.
